Want to know what’s been going on at SARCRAFT this past month? Read on!

- We’ve been working hard building partnerships with other outdoor-focused businesses in the area. We had our first successful course at TruPrep at the end of January, we’ve got a Winter Wild Edibles evening seminar scheduled at REI Atlanta on March 13th, and we’re doing a knife sharpening demo at Field & Stream Kennesaw on March 31st – come see us!

- The Adirondack is taking shape! The non-stop rain has hampered our progress significantly, but we’re slowly moving forward. The walls are nearly head-high now, and it’s looking more and more like a shelter every day. This shelter will go where the old tarp shelter stood, and we’ll use it for teaching, storage, and of course, sleeping in.

- Our first Long Distance Hiking Essentials course was a great success! The Hopson family is planning on thru-hiking the entire 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail as a group – all six of them! They came to us for a final checkoff to learn some basic wilderness survival skills, as well as the mindset and habits necessary to PREVAIL on the trail. We’re honored to be their final stop before they depart on their expedition, and we wish them good luck and Godspeed!

- We’ll be attending the Georgia Bushcraft Spring Gathering on March 23-25 in Watkinsville – this will be our first time at this event, so we won’t have a booth. But if you’d like to come and hang out with us, the more the merrier! Learn more here at: https://www.georgiabushcraft.com/products/spring

February has been a tough month for us in a lot of ways. The constant rain has thrown a wrench into our construction plans, and we haven’t made the progress we’d hoped to by now. But on the other hand, we’ve had some big wins as well – we’ve taught several awesome courses and seen months of preparation and work bear fruit with our community partnerships. For everything, there is a time and a season. We look forward to seeing what March brings!
