Wanna know what's been going on at SARCRAFT this past month?
- We’re still working to bring our vision for the Proving Ground to life… this past month, we built a new shelter thatched with broomsedge grass harvested on the property with a lot of help from our good friend Steve Spencer during our Sheltering Essentials course. We’ve also demarcated the property lines to better ensure that students stay within the boundaries and to make sure everyone else stays out.
- Our first ever Campfire Social was a success! We had a solid attendance with some great food and drink… and most importantly, lots of new friends, old friends, family, kids, and dogs. We’ll be hosting one again in early 2018 – we’ll be sure to keep you posted.
- We had the privilege of hosting our friends from Georgia Piedmont Search & Rescue back for the second half of their SARTECH II Prep Course. Georgia Piedmont were our very first cohort of students back when we were first trying to get off the ground, and it was great to come full circle and have them back again.
- Our Lead Instructor Jonathan Morris journeyed north to DuPont State Forest outside of Hendersonville, NC to serve as an instructor for the twelfth annual DuPont Rescue Experience – a regional search & rescue conference where the nation’s most elite teams come together to learn, grow, and train. SARCRAFT knocked it out of the park – we were voted the #1 survival instruction team at the entire event!
We look forward to a great rest of the year!
- Alex
