TOPS Fieldcraft by the Brothers of Bushcraft
When students ask what knives we recommend, this one is consistently at the top of the list. Simply put, it does everything right. It’s got just enough heft to excel at heavy tasks like chopping and batoning, but it’s also nimble enough for the most delicate bushcraft tasks. Its modified Scandi grind is unparalleled for carving or skinning. Its weatherproof, fire-resistant, and impact-resistant Micarta scales are contoured perfectly for most hands. Those scales even feature a bow drill divot to use as a bearing block for primitive firecraft. It also comes with features such as jimping on the spine of the blade for a firm grip, a finger choil to assist with detailed tasks, and a Shango notch for striking the included ferro rod. At various points in their career, both members of the SARCRAFT Instructor Corps have carried and used this knife every day as their primary blade. That’s about as strong an endorsement as we can give it.
