Manufactured by Ontario Knife Company in New York, this compact machete is the little brother to the blades issued to the U.S. military for jungle warfare. A modified, shortened take on the classic Latin American cutlass-type machete design, this nearly indestructible blade is perfect for bushcrafters, preppers, hunters, farmers, foresters, and other self-reliant individuals looking for an affordable blade they can rely on day in and day out. As a small machete, it can pull double duty as a large camp knife if necessary, processing firewood, chopping food, and cutting cordage. However, where it really excels is as a chopper, cutting limbs and small trees. It’s great in tight brush where larger machetes may be unwieldy.
