In order to communicate effectively off the grid, you’ve got to be able to use the best tools available to you. And sometimes, that involves getting some credentials. In order to fully utilize the radio comms frequency spectrum, you’ve got to get your HAM radio license. And that’s exactly what you’ll have the ability to do during this course and test. You’ll get a crash course (the “cram”) and lots of review on everything you’ll need to know to pass the Technician level test. If you show up, take notes, pay attention, and do your best, you’ll walk away with your license and a call sign, and the ability to unlock a variety of channels and frequencies to communicate outside of the grid. This class and test will be jointly hosted by SARCRAFT and the Cherokee County Amateur Radio Relay League.

Instructor’s Note: If you plan on taking this test, we strongly recommend signing up for Offgrid Communication Essentials on Saturday, May 30th. Upon signing up, we’ll also send you an assortment of study resources to help you prepare for the test.
