First Aid for the Outdoor Enthusiast
Become First Aid certified and learn lifesaving medical skills... including what to do when you can't call 911.
You’re on a hike up a mountain, and your spouse falls down and breaks their ankle. You’re out hunting, and your buddy accidentally cuts his leg open while skinning a deer. You’re mountain biking, and your friend gets thrown over the handle bars and down the hill. What do you do? Do you have the knowledge and skills to deal with the situation at hand and bring everyone home alive and safe?
A basic level of medical training is a vital skill everyone should possess. For those of us who venture outdoors, it’s doubly important.
In this 1-day joint class presented by SARCRAFT and New Life Solutions International, you’ll learn first aid actions for dealing with choking, heart attack, stroke, musculoskeletal injuries such as broken bones and sprains, environmental injuries such as hypothermia and insect stings, as well as how to control bleeding. You’ll also learn how to improvise and use common outdoor gear and the natural resources around you to treat your patient, including how to make an improvised litter to get your patient to safety.
Taught by State of Georgia Licensed Wilderness EMT-Intermediate and Registered Volunteer Firefighter Rebecca Strobl alongside the SARCRAFT Instructor Corps, this course will grant you a nationally recognized First Aid certification, as well as real-world, hands-on training to deal with a variety of medical issues.
